Bart Boeraeve, the new chairman of the Belgian hops association, has a lot to say to the Beer Idiots about the fresh direction for Belgian hop growers and keeping abreast of an evolving market. He provides insight into the future for what was once a key Belgian agricultural product and a part of the country’s beer culture. He is now looking to attract younger farmers to the business of growing hops and catering to a diverse beer market.
Boeraeve runs the family’s hop farm Belhop, which they have been operating since 1903.
