Check out the calendar for your daily dose of beer drinking events today for the final day of Belgium Beer Week 2021. We applaud the 61 participants who supported and joined the week, and invested their time in hosting great events throughout the land, in places such as Gesves, Lede and Zottegem to Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent…. Thank you also to those who went to the venues and discovered new drinking spots, new activities, and added to their knowledge of Belgium’s beer culture! In Brussels, Cedric of Agalmalt will provide you with a session of tasty combinations of unique desserts and beers from l’Ermitage, in the presence of the pastry chef. Cédric of Beer.be is hosting a talk on beer archeology along with tastings at La Tana Brussels. Meanwhile, later in the evening Chef Simone of La Tana is at Beergium Bar for food and drinks. Beer My Guest is guiding a visit to the iconic L’Atomium with tastings on the terrace. Brussels Beer Project is getting funky with 8 BBP mixed-fermentation beers on tap at its Dansaert location. The fun does not stop at Family Brews as they have an open door for local musicians and singers during the week. Party like its 2021! Otomat is offering a special pizza & beer sharing menu for two. You can taste 3 pizzas paired with three Belgian beers. The Belgian Beers Race team continues to promote the retail release of the game.
Close by in Gooik, Liselot of BeerSecret is hosting a visit to gueuze blender De Cam.
In Antwerp, Spéciale Belge Taproom is holding a tap takeover featuring Uncharted Brew Co., Brouwerij Magnus, Gistgeest and De Mortselarij. Discover 20 taps and play beer games at Philly’s Antwerp. De Koninck Brewery is doing food and drink pairings. The pairings will run from 24-29 August. Barrel aged beers are in the spotlight at Café Pardaf. Check out the tasty list! Try a cured sausage or sandwich with head cheese while shopping for old and rare beer glasses at Paters Vaetje, which is also hosting a talk on the history of Antwerp brewing. Trappist cheese and Orval aged for 3+ years is on offer by Café Mombasa.
In Namur its a mini-festival within Belgium Beer Week! Check out Namur Capitale de la Cerveza, which features beers from 5 Spanish breweries from 27-29 August. Try the local beer l’Estamine at Café Le Chapitre, which bills itself as the “only authentic beer bar in Namur near St Aubain church”. There are 50 other beers to enjoy.
In Leuven, visit Brouwerij de Coureur, which is doing taproom tastings.
In Ghent at Bar Beenhouwer you can taste the town’s ‘best pate’ in an event labelled as ‘Revenge of Jérôme, Son of Pateekover 2 the Sequel’.
In Lede, Domein Leeflank is showing you around their wine estate and hosting a tasting of their homemade beers and kombucha, along with their first rosé wine. It is an open day there, part of the East Flemish wine tour 2021. You can eat pizza from food truck Vlambar between 11.30 am and 2.30 pm.
In Diest you can do a pub crawl and chocolate tasting with Bierolade.
Mechelen joins in the fun as De Floeren Aap and Beer Rebels host a tap takeover by 18TH Street Brewery.
