If you know Meug, you probably know that we try to organise a very special tasting in the beginning of each year, just to start the new year well. You know, New Year’s Resolutions, Good Intentions and all you.
Meug-friend James Pithie dove into his private stash and dug up a series of truly incredible vintage bottles from his personal favourite distillery. Talisker. An elusive name, a name that conjures images of rocky shores, stormy skies and unforgettable moments. The whisky has made a name for itself with astonishing quality bottlings, and some of the old bottles are right up there with the very best ever. James has agreed to open 6 of these, for you to course.
So. We have a great location, two brilliant hosts in Herman and James, some beers and good food and of course six truly amazing drams. We hope that’s enough to convince you to join us?
The Full Line-up of the whisky (total bottle value +9.500€!!!):
Douglas Laing Tactical 23yo (1982 – 2005) 50% ABV
Talisker Samaroli 1988-2002 46% ABV
Talisker 12yo 1980s bottling 43% ABV (screw cap)
Talisker 30yo OB 2007 50.7% ABV (Diageo Special Release)
Talisker 20yo OB 2003 58.8% ABV (Diageo Special Release)
Talisker 1972 G&M bottling
To join in the tasting, there are two options: 2cl of each dram (270€) or 1cl of each dram (160€). If you can’t join us on January 4th, sample sets can be ordered too, for the same price (shipping excluded). We are looking into setting up a live stream for the tasting on the night, so people can join in from home, but of course most fun will be had on the night in Malle!
