Koen Christiaens is moving Brouwerij Sako from a restored farmhouse in Bogaarden, which also houses the family home, to a new location at a former factory in Gooik.
It is around the corner from Oude Geuzestekerij De Cam, which his brewing partner Willem Van Herreweghen founded and later passed on to its current owner to focus on consulting.
Christiaens and Van Herreweghen released their first old gueuze together in 2023 to much acclaim. In a tour of the new building with the Beer Idiots, Christiaens describes their plan to focus on lambic and triple their production.
