Set along a waterway/canal of the Scheldt river, Stroom was founded by American Farrell Styers and Belgian Carl Uytterhaeghe in Gent, Belgium and began producing its first beers in November 2021.
In an interview, Styers describes how the two met and created Stroom, and the kind of beers he brews.
Beyond just the brewing, the two also focus on art, innovation and community. Uytterhaeghe is an art lover/collector and a former gallery owner.
The two met in Kyrgyzstan over a decade ago before teaming up again in Gent.
